Debate Summary Vaccination is a method of giving antigen to stimulate the immune response through active immunization. It is an immune-biological material designed to generate particular protection against a specified infection (Austvoll-Dahlgren et al, 2010). I think we should definitely have mandatory childhood vaccinations. It is our shared responsibility, vaccines are safe and effective. Vaccines can eradicate disease and prevent serious illness and death. I think children are maybe harmed when are not vaccinated. However, no human being should have the right to danger the health of the society exclusively for the reason of fulfilling their philosophical and personal moral views. I believe that vaccinated society can help eradicate disease outbreaks for future generation, including mumps, measles, and rubella. For example, a vaccinated mother can protect their unborn children from viruses that can potentially cause birth defects. Vaccines also create significant economic benefit for community. According to CDC and Prevention survey found every $ 1 spent on vaccination saves the society $ 6.30 in medical cost that will happen to treat unvaccinated ill person (Austvoll-Dahlgren et al, 2010). My perspective didn’t get changed after the rebuttal argument, because life expectancy in this country is longer than it is ever been, because of things like vaccination. There are a lot of people still alive today, because of vaccination and we need to recognize that as well.
