A particular piece of work that inspired me in this weeks reading was 2.17 Prudence Punderson: The First, Second, and Last Scene of Mortality, before 1773.
Prudence Punderson was known for being an extraordinary needlework artist. Originally from Connecticut but relocated to Long Island with her family during the American Revolution. The diary of Prudence is currently held at the Connecticut Historical Society. In her diary we can read about her views on religion, politics, and her personal life. Mostly notable is her love story of a fiver year courtship finally ending in marriage but sadly ending in her death shortly after. Prudence died at the age of 26 years old while giving birth to her daughter Sophia.
