The first summative assessment for this project will be a movie preview made in iMovie that will incorporate all of the above summative assessments. Additionally, they will need to include a New Deal program, its responsibility and its contribution to the Great Depression. By having students complete the above summative assessments, I will assure that they are on pace for completion of the project. Additionally, it will help to take the pressure off of my students to not feel like they have to do everything at one time. Like many classes I have taken in this master program, it is a step by step process that builds to a final project.
The second summative assessment will be a short paper that details what the students learned. Additionally, they will be required to take a side on whether or not government action during the Great Depression was effective or not. Historians, and politicians, still debate on the role that government intervention played. Additionally, they will be required to look at current day economic issues and create a solution for that issue.

The first is that the students have fun. Obviously, students are in school to learn and grow as people, but it is important that they enjoy the process. If my students to not like this project, they will be less likely to completely buy in and not absorb as much.
The second way I will know that this project succeeded will be the results of both the summative and formative assessments. I will judge this on both the quality and content of each of the assessments. If students produce quality work, reflecting a strong level of knowledge, I will know that the project was properly structured and executed.
