According to “Stories of Love and Adventure,” the problem between a mother in law and the daughter in law is reflected. The mother also expects a quality woman for her son while the daughter in law has to prove herself that she is suitable for her husband and wins the mother’s heart. The mother in law usually wants the woman who is obident, patient, dovoted, and more importantly, she has to love her husband extremely. In the story, Apodite requires many difficult tasks to Psyche like dividing many types of seeds, collecting wool for a golden fleece, filling a flask by a dangerous steam, and even going to the underworld in order to fill an empty box with beauty cream. These difficult tasks Psyche undergoes show us about her patience and devotion she has toward Cupid. It reflects the situation that the mother in law requires so many tasks to her daughter in law. The mother might want to test and teach that her daughter in law can put up with a hardship of life and ready to take the role of a wife who has to take care the whole family. Not only that, the daughter in law has to be obident as she has to follow the command of the mother and also her husband. After she has prove her self that she is suitable to be a good wife and a good daughter in law, the problem between her and the mother in law is solve. In the story, after Psyche undergoes the hard time, Apodite does not have any problem with Psy at all. She gives a blessing to Psyche and Cupid. This suggests that the
