There are many psychological disorders that can affect a child’s development and day to day functioning. “The most common developmental disorder is mental retardation. According to the CDC, more than one out of every 100 school children in the United States has some form of mental retardation” (First Signs). One of these many developmental disorders is Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism is a type of disorder in which there is a lack of communication/social interaction and difficulty understanding another person’s state of mind.
