After going over our stories in class today, you can say group 2 is very diverse. What really stood out to me after listening to all of our stories is that; we all have parents or grandparents that have migrated to the United States from somewhere else. Additionally, we all have kind of the same support system behind us while we pursue our degrees. Alex is a 21-year-old student, whose drive has gotten her to accomplish her degree in 4 years. She comes from a mixture of backgrounds: Hawaiian, Italian, and Native American. Being captain of her softball team help her build her leadership skills. Growing up max was the youngest of 4 and was constantly living in his sibling’s shadows. Despite the pressure, Max started to shine in his own areas and accomplish things his siblings had not. In high school Max was the ASB President, while also find some key influencers within staff at his school. What I like about Max’s story is that he is choosing to take his own path, instead of following someone else footsteps. Tina is the oldest of 3 and is setting an example for her younger siblings. Faced with some difficulties in her first coupe of years in school, she has regained control and is getting ready to graduate. Some of her big key influences have been her coworkers, family and friends; these influences have helped her get to where she is at today. What I like about Tina’s story is that she doesn’t quit even when things are not going good for her. Trisha moved to the United States when she was 10 years old.
