1. Maimouna is a girl who was told she would never have a husband or have a family of her own because she was diagnosed with aids. She was bashed by others because she has aids. This was heartbreaking to hear about. This girl has hopes and dreams of finding a husband and having a family of her own, but society was against her stating it will never happen because she has aids. Instead of having people around her to help her and support her through this tough experience, she was bashed and that is heartbreaking to hear. Rebecca is a girl and her mom stood by her side in regards for Rebecca wanting an education despite what the family/society believed in because her mom believed that education was important. It is horribly heart-breaking to hear that Rebecca’s mom was nearly beaten to death standing by Rebecca to make sure she got an education. Even though, her mom had to run away to escape Rebecca stood by her beliefs, her mom’s beliefs that education was important and got the education she wanted. Not only is this heartbreaking, but it is also inspiring. This young woman comes from a family, society to where women did not receive an education and fought hard to get the education she wanted. This just proves to show that anything is possible if you work for it even though there are struggles along the way.

3. Shahwli is about a man who did not receive an education and how he has a hard time reading and writing. This man also talks to his son how important school is and make sure his son does his homework. I thought this was amazing.
