For this assignment, I used a Mii that was already created on the Wii and in order to set up my baseline I stood on the balance board and it calculated that my weight was 43.8% on my left foot and 56.2% on my right foot. The Wii then calculated that my BMI was 21.83 however, this is a little higher than what my BMI is normally calculated but it still is in the “normal” range. My Wii age was calculated at 40 years old. The game then went on to do a few balance tests prior to starting the game. One of the test was an agility test and required me to move on the balance board and hit boxes that popped up randomly around the screen. I managed eleven boxes in 30 seconds. The other test was me again moving around on the board in order to get …show more content…
I don’t feel that environmental adaptation was much of an issue during this assignment due to the fact that our environment never really changed due to the fact that we were on the balance board that was not changing during the assignment. The musculoskeletal system was applied throughout the entire assignment during out movement to attempt the balance games. Having to weight shift side to side and being able to maintain postural alignment during the activity in order to maintain balance was due to the musculoskeletal system responding appropriately. Having posture readiness is the component of predictive central set and during this assignment this component for myself was not at its optimal level. I was not able to be ready for the needed movements in adequate time after the prior movement needed. Being able to have my muscles react in a suitable amount of time after the displacement of my center of gravity was also not one of my strong suits. I was unable to regain postural control quickly after this displacement, hence, why the game classifies me as being unbalanced in part due to my lack of motor coordination. I feel that my eye-head stabilization was fairly good during
