Why do you want to be a member of the QPCG team? What about private equity or venture capital excites you?

QPCG will allow me to obtain what I value most in university, the opportunity to meet, communicate with, and learn from some of the most intelligent and passionate students in the country. A simple look at QPCG’s alumni and executive team displays the reputable and diverse placements of the club. This team provides me the opportunity to develop personally, where I will be able to expand my financial skills outside of the Commerce curriculum, while creating connections with members that have had exposure in real business environments. I am a person that believes your input equals your output, especially in competitive fields such as finance. This mindset allows me to put my mind to tasks, even if they are outside my area of knowledge, to ensure they get done properly and with precision. Examples that demonstrate this are the fact I taught myself to code in 5 different languages and how to do graphic design. My open-mindedness is a trait I have developed from travelling to over 20 countries, where I learned of different cultures and perspectives towards life. This assists me in looking at every side of a situation before making a decision, and always wanting to hear other people’s opinions on topics. My lively personality makes working with a team a very enjoyable activity for me as I love to get to know people. I learned about this startup from talking to venture capitalist, Commerce alumni, and co-founder of Mindset, Alyssa Spagnolo. What makes Mindset a wonderful investment opportunity is there proven market base, solid team, and continuous progress. Mindset launched their product on Kickstarter with a goal of $100,000. Their product went to the top of the website and gained $1,000,000 in funding; 1000% more than what the company had asked for. This shows that there are numerous consumers out there who are interested in the concept, which makes it a viable business. Next is Mindset’s team, which is comprised of top engineers that have previous entrepreneurial experience. The company has the right people to take it to the next level. This company has shown continuous progress with the funding they received by beginning manufacturing in China and expanding their team. They have utilised their resources for the right activities to scale their company. Although this is an early-stage startup and has lots left to achieve before it expands, it is one that is extremely innovative and a very attractive
