This was a pretty easy assignment. We started you out in class with the signin, so why not just do the easy paragraph? Let me know how your grades were in your other class. Which teacher did you have?

In my last class I didn’t really have many grades since I had switched into that class too, from
Mrs. Blanco’s, but like I mentioned in class before, I had Mrs. Amoedo before finally switching into your class, because I really wanted to have Algebra II for 1st period instead of 3rd, so I decided to get a schedule change. My grades in that class weren’t really good, however, because like in this class I had a bunch of Zs that i had to make up since I wasn’t in the class when the work was given.

Log in to your portal and view your grade for this class. What is your average? Explain any zeros grades that you have. Also, write about your first two units of Carnegie. Did you find it easy or difficult? Did you have to click on the “hint” button often? Did you go to the “lesson” in Carnegie at all? How much time do you think the two units took? Did you try any activities on Khan Academy? If yes, does it look like that program might be comparable or better than Carnegie? Were you able to log into the online textbook? Are you likely to read and work problems from the online book or are you the kind that prefers to print out the pages and work on the problems? For this class, I have a 57% average, which is horrible, but that’s because I still have to turn in a couple of assignments, due to joining the class late. I have three zeros: one for this assignment, one for pg .53, and one for the contact sheet. I just recently (like an hour or two ago) did the contact sheet; I already did pg. 53 in the textbook, but I guess I have a Z because I turned it in late and the grade hasn’t been put in yet; I also have a Z for this journal assignment, but that will eventually change. Hopefully, after the Zs are removed I can have an A in Algebra again because it freaks me out to have a bad grade in a math course. However,
I wasn’t able to finish my test today, since I ran out of time...that’s never a good thing. The first two units in Carnegie were pretty easy. However, the pretest took me ages to finish; luckily the second unit was super easy and took me so little time, that I had enough time to do part of the Carnegie assignment for this week, in that same day. I usually go to the lesson in Carnegie when I don’t understand how to work out the problem. For example, sometimes I go to the lesson when I don’t know the formula that
I need to use, or I just forgot how to do a formula that I haven’t used in a while. I haven’t had a chance to go on Khan Academy, but I will probably go on it to study for my next test or quiz and maybe I will learn something new from this website. With the online textbook, I somewhat struggled, because I didn’t have the code, which is what leads to the issue in the first paragraph about turning in pg. 53 late. Fortunately, I was able to log in the next day and do my work. I will most likely do the work in the online textbook by writing down the problems in a sheet of paper and just doing the work in that same paper because I don’t really like having to print stuff out or working on a printed out worksheet, even though it takes more work to write everything out by hand.

Good. Thanks for getting this one done. I’ll go change your grade now. I changed the highlighting and text color since I was having trouble reading it. (And it would use up tons of ink when you print it.)

Journal 4 topic
Write a brief summary of the topics covered in chapter 1 and write about how you study for an important test. In chapter one we covered a variety of topics, but we mainly discussed inequalities and absolute value equations. We also covered different types properties, which even
