Registered Apprenticeship is a formal employment relationship designed to promote skill training and learning on the job that is certified by DOL or a federally-recognized State Apprenticeship Agency to meet the basic standards and requirements of DOL. ‘‘Hands on’’ learning takes place in conjunction with related theoretical instruction (often in a classroom setting). An apprentice, who completes an OA registered program, is awarded a certificate of completion of apprenticeship.
