The music could be define as a style of sounds prepared by instruments design for music along with voices, in order to give pleasure to audience listening to it. In today society, music is listened all over the place and it is influenced by different cultures, and economic organization. All those effects will give to the music different technique, styles, and rhythms. It is in this logic that we are going to explore the African music style (Makossa), Jazz, and R&B music style. The Makossa is known as an African Music style born in the country named Cameroon (sometime called “Africa in miniature”) located in central Africa. Makossa has come to be a popular urban music style in the early 1951, like some late 20th century song of sub-Saharan Africa music style. The word Makossa means “I dance” in the local language “Douala language” in the province of Littoral-Cameroon and originated from the kossa dance of Douala community. The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans. At that time when rocking, jazz based music with a dense, persistent beat was becoming more widespread. Starting in the 1950, just this style of music contributed to the development of rock and roll, the term "R&B" has become used to refer to music styles that developed and incorporated electric blues, as well as gospel and soul music. Late on, rhythm and blues was used as a substitute term for soul and funk. After that, a newer style of R&B developed, becoming known as Contemporary R&B. It put together elements of blues, funk, hip hop and the rhythm and the dance style. Jazz and R&B have the same root which is Blues and funk.
