Google’s definition of racism is “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.” Race and racism have both played a very important role in society and have impacted the way humans perceive the world. Racism began long ago. Nobody really knows exactly when it started, but all of the details are in the history that dates back centuries ago. Race has been a factor in many arguments and wars. The difference in something as miniscule as percentage of melanin has meant so much to many who try to keep a pure and superior race. Although racism has caused so many problems, it still shows today in society.
