17 January 2017 Racial Discrimination in Baseball Throughout the 20th century, views on African Americans in sports have drastically changed. This is all because of one sport. That sport is the great game of baseball that would later link together two races and finally began to push away the discrimination against those with different colored skin and treat them as the professional athletes they were. The break down of racial discrimination in the baseball industry had a positive effect on American in the 20th century because stereotypes were rejected causing people to accept that blacks were equal with whites, at least on the playing field. These so-called races descended from different ancestors separated by location and time. Based on bible, the term race must be incorrect. People are all one race "one blood" in Acts 17:26, the human race. The Bible teaches about the civil rights movement and that it never should have been necessary. Christianity and civil rights should go hand in hand. Discrimination based on race or skin color has no place in the Christian worldview. It is not just “black” and “white," a person’s skin shade should in no way determine any sort of racist comments or tensions. What a difference one would see in America if people acted in accordance with the Bible's principles, and understood that all humans are equal before God, and all are sinners in need of salvation. In the United States culture we are racially programmed, especially in the skin color issue. Because of culture’s roots, the way the world thinks, and the influence of Evolutional thinking, people look at the exterior rather than the interior of a person, yet, they need to begin to see as God
