Law enforcement exists to help and protect all people. Law enforcement must be unbiased in order to serve and protect all citizens. However in today's society, officers do not help all people. Worse yet, officers abuse the position because of a racist agenda. Law enforcement in the United Stated is racist and must change.
Racism is discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the beliefs that one’s own race is superior . Ku Klux Klan is a organization of white males that believe they are superior over all races. A law enforcement are not supposed to abuse the power and violate the rights of the people. Law enforcement use brutal force to turn around martin luther king and his followers when they were walking across the bridge .There is evidence to why the Law enforcement is racist. Twelve police officers responded to an incident involving a pool party in McKinney,Tx.The incident was described by police as a disturbance involving mostly African American teens.The officers who responded handle the situation appropriately except for an officer named Eric casebolt.When he pushed a african american girl dressed in a bikini to the ground.When two African-American teenage males interfere, the officer took and pointed his handgun towards them. The officer was also heard using profanity. The entire event was captured camera and posted to YouTube.An 18-year-old who was arrested at the incident was on charges of misdemeanor, the charges against him were later dropped.Eric casebolt was Placed On Leave then later resigned because of the pool party. The year was 2012 and Trayvon Martin who was 17 years of age and african american decided to walk to the store to get snacks before the “NBA Slam Dunk contest”. Trayvon Martin caught the attention of a member from the neighborhood watch named George Zimmerman who is white. When he was on his way back to his father’s apartment.Zimmerman who was 28 years of age was sitting in his vehicle and did not hesitate to called the local police to report a suspicious "young Black male wearing a hoodie." The dispatcher told George Zimmerman to stay in the car but he decided to approach Trayvon. George Zimmerman and Martin got into a confrontation and ,Zimmerman who weight was over 100 pounds and was armed with a 9-millimeter handgun fired a shot that leaves Trayvon Martin an unarmed teenager dead. It was clear to say trayvon was at a disadvantage because Martin was only carrying a bag of skittles, a couple bucks and a can of iced
