According to Democracy Now! onJune 29th hosted by Amy Goodman, today the Chief Justice U.S Supreme Court, John Roberts, decide to vote, join with the court’s four liberal members. They havepassed the Affordable Care Act, the landmark healthcare reform bill signed by President Obama two years ago. In this case, citing the authority of Congress to impose taxes, the decision affirms the law’s individual mandate provision that requires Americans who can afford it to either obtain health insurance or pay a penalty by 2014. This is the great news for a lot of Americans. My first impression to the issue was surprised. Americans can buy insurance with an affordable price. Besides, insurance companies must sell their health insurances for people have health problems before they buy health insurance. In a speech ahead of the U.S Supreme Court decision, President Obama said “It’s the right thing to do that we’ve got three million young people who are on their parents’ health insurance plans that didn’t have it before. It’s the right thing to do to give seniors discounts on their prescription drugs. It’s the right thing to do to give 30 million Americans health insurance that didn’t have it before. They want to go forward".I think the Chief Justice John Roberts and the court’s four liberal members also think that.
