Raising a child in today’s society is not easy task. Having a solid family foundation that supports and helps out is extremely important, both parents influence a child on its value, beliefs, and behavior, and they bring unique strengths to their relationships with their children. It is known that children who have both a mother and father are more cared and loved. Caregivers, peers, friends, classmates, and even neighbors can influence a child as well. They all contribute to child’s knowledge of the outside world. However, studies have shown, as mentioned in the article “How do Fathers fit in”, that a father’s influence on a child’s life can really make difference. On the other hand, an absent parent or parent, who does not pay attention to his or her child can have negative effects on their developments as individuals. Such children do not have a proper guidance in their life and can easily be affected by drugs, and violence. This is shown in the book “TOWM” by Wes Moore. Parents have a tremendous influence on the development of their children, whether good or bad. The parents or even one parent can make all the difference whether that child turns into a well-mannered, smart, and successful individual.

As mentioned in the article” Dear Dads: Save Your Sons”, the author Christopher Bacorn says that helping with homework, attending in activities can make a difference on how a child feels and acts. Children, who often play with their fathers, tend to be more playful and affectionate, and are most likely to be more popular in school. Fathers also tend to encourage children do discover their own strengths, try new things, and learn about the world around them. Studies,
