Lord of the Flies
In the book, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the boys’ society fell apart because of Jack’s and Ralph’s conflicts, Jack being power hungry and lastly the beast. Jack and Ralph had so many conflicts that including hunting. They couldn’t work together when they became chiefs. Everyone went to one side or another and then everything went all crazy because Jack couldn’t stand Ralph’s ways. The beast had affected mostly the littluns because they were imagining these things because they’re stuck in this island forever.

My reasoning is why Jack and Ralph is conflicting because Jack can’t stand Ralph’s ways of leading the group and also leading of the separation of the group. ”This is a hunter’s job.” The rest of the boys watched

“Oh shut up!” The sound of the inexpertly blown conch interrupted them. As though he were serenading the rising sun,Jack went on blowing till the shelters were astir and the hunters crept to the platform and the littluns whimpered as now they frequently did. Ralph rose obediently, and Piggy, and they went to the platform. “Talk,” said Ralph bitterly,” talk, talk ,talk.” He took the conch from Jack. “This meeting-” Jack interrupted him. “I called it.” “If you hadn't called it I should have. You just blew the conch.” Well isn’t calling it?” “Oh,take it! Go on- talk!” (125) It meant that Jack and Ralph couldn’t make a decision together about who is going to talk to everyone.

In conclusion, the boys’ society fell apart because of Ralph and Jack’s conflicts, Jack being power hungry to kill and the beast. Jack and Ralph’s conflicts included wanting to hunt or being rescued and Jack mostly taking control.After not cooperating with each other,they have splitted into groups and making everything more crazy as it seems.Also the beast has affected everyone and make everyone thinking strange
