Devastation. The United States has been dubbed as the saviors in both world war I and II, and truly, after dropping not one, but two nuclear bombs on innocent civilians, does it deserve that title after all the pain and chaos. The japanese military was anything other than innocent in the second world war, but in what they lacked in morale the civilians made up on. And not nearly were they as corrupt as the germans; in which, many justified the doings of the soldiers at concentration camps as a necessity, very few opposed the idea. Though after everything the Americans saw occuring in the military of the japanese, interfering was the only way, and bombing was the most dangerous and sure answer. Therefore, the United States had every right to be the hero's because had it not been for them then many more innocents would have died than in those two bombings. …show more content…
In 1936 and 1937, lasting over six weeks, “the Japanese army entered the city of Nanking… known as the Rape of Nanking,”(Doc 10). Images have shown a man with soldier getup and a mask swinging a pole at a child of just about age 10, whose eyes are covered, and hands are tied before their back. During this time, the japanese would created chaos in Nanjing, China; something that is clearly stated in the name because some were massacred and others were raped. Nothing short of cruelty, but this event can possibly be considered an eighth of the holocaust, probably not even that. The things that occured in the war are things that should never happen to anyone, but they did and they can’t be denied because many lives were taken, and they were not in vain because the U.S bombing those two cities of Japan saved many lives, possibly more than those taken that could’ve been
