Today’s society is continuously being revolutionized by technology and changing to benefit and evolve the way it functions. Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury establishes in his short story “The Pedestrian” that technology will be heavily relied upon in the future; ultimately, leading to loneliness and isolation. For example isolation is controversially presented in the short story: Mr. Leonard Mead transports readers, “he was alone in this world of A.D. 2053, or as good as alone.” (Bradbury). Alternately isolation is illustrated when Mr. Leonard Mead states that no matter what path he takes while walking it will make no difference.
