Imagine people in 50 years, will they be diving into other dimensions as they read the best book they have ever read or will they be sitting on the couch watching tv? Humans are always developing new technologies and most of the time, this is very good, but how much is too much? People like Ray Bradbury feared the future because of these new technologies. There are multiple technologies taking over Bradbury's future and possibly the futures, but is it really unnecessary to fear technology when books have an appropriate value in the society; also because of the differences between books and tvs, an equal balance of both is greatly needed.
As people read Fahrenheit 451, they discovered many of the technologies that Bradbury invented in his mind

Bradbury should have not worried about the future as much as he did. The future doesn't keep most of us up at night. Yes, most people could see where Bradbury was coming from. Not knowing if books would totally vanish from the society is kind of scary. However books play such a vital role in the society, there is no way books would be gone for good. Books give people who read them important messages and knowledge. In his book, it explains that tvs can do the same thing just in a different way. However, Bradbury also explains that tvs can give people the same message but they definitely aren't getting the same effect as reading a book. Reading a book will improve one’s vocabulary and stimulate their brain where as a tv show will not be able to provide them this. Some may have very similar views to Bradbury. They believe that books can be so much more powerful than sitting down watching a tv show. Yes, people's brain does have to process the information happening in the show, but that is like a warmup for their brain. Books give people a good exercise that their brain will actually benefit from. In Fahrenheit 451 one can see the result of two different people. First, Mildred, a lady who just watches tv and listens to music, never thinks deeply and could be considered brain dead. She doesn't have any feelings for her real family. Second, Guy, a man who had deep thoughts and educational conversations, was very smart from the results of reading books and thinking hard. He eventually broke free from his broken government and started a revolution. As people can see by these examples from Bradbury's book books and tvs can produce two very different people. However does this mean we should totally banish tv? No, tv gives basic social skills that
