Ray Bradbury was an American author and a screenwriter, his quote “I hate all politics. I don't like either political party. One should not belong to them - one should be an individual, standing in the middle. Anyone that belongs to a party stops thinking.” Talks about how people support political parties, he wants people to have their individual opinions and not blindly support whatever the party says as this creates a divide in the country. Two famous parties are the Democratic party and the Republican party of the United States. Democrats are more liberal, and Republicans are more conservative, these parties create a divide among individuals, and they tend to dislike each other even without getting to know the person first. A study has shown that different political views don’t just divide people politically but also divides them socially (Cohn). The study shows that parents tend to be unhappy if their child marries someone with different political views than theirs, they also prefer to live with people who share their political beliefs.
