Commemoration of Ray Lewis: Ray Lewis is a leader on and off the field and motivates people in a variety of different ways which makes him someone worth commemorating. As many people may know Ray Lewis was one of the best middle linebackers to play in the NFL. Not only was he one of the greatest people on the football field but he plays a major factor in his community as well. In this speech, I will inform listeners about how Lewis can inspire other people not only on the football field but in his dedication to the community as well. Every game Lewis played in, he pumped his team up with his motivational speeches. His leadership to win games inspired many coaches and fans of his. Throughout his career lewis has a combined total number of tackles of over 2000, along with 41 sacks and 31 interceptions. Leaders grow and learn from their experiences. For example, Lewis didn't always have it so easy, he became the man of the house at a very young age and helped raise his 4 younger siblings due to the absence of his father. This gave him a sense of responsibility and authority. Lewis’s original last name was Jenkins. He became so disgusted with how his father abandoned them, that he took on his mothers boyfriends last name, Lewis. He has over came many obstacles and became the man he his today on his own with little to no male guidance. Lewis should be commemorated for the great amount of things he offers to his community and how he continues to create leaders through his summer camps and other programs.
