What would you do if you saw your kid watching a show that could produce dangerous activity or unpleasant stereotypes? Many kids look up to their favorite character of a tv show and some are not good. Kids want to grow up and be just like that character and can get the wrong idea about who that character is. Some parents will say that their child will grow up the way they want them to but that is not always a good thing. Even though not everyone watches reality shows, I believe that reality shows promote dangerous stereotypes because some shows promote drugs and alcohol and kids grow up wanting to become gang members.
Some reality shows are dangerous for children because they involve stereotypes, drugs, and violence. “It used to be if you were 16 and pregnant you would get in trouble. Now you get a reality show. You get arrested on TV after a drunken binge and become an instant millionaire”. This basically means that people are trying to get out that becoming sixteen and pregnant is a good thing. What people making this argument have failed to consider, is that the people in the shows are either having a baby at sixteen and instantly giving it away, or doing drugs as a daily lifestyle. Reality shows are dangerous due to the violence, drugs, and stereotypes that are involved. For example, on the show “16 and Pregnant” all they do on the show is show the horrible life of two teens dealing with pregnancy and what they have to go through. Usually at the end of each episode they give away the baby. This shows that if young teens watch this show or any reality show, they will get the idea of wanting to become pregnant younger or do dangerous things. This helps because it proves that teens will follow certain people that lead to dangerous
