1. Purpose - Strengthen a cooperative framework with young generations of the UN Allied nations - Deepen the understanding of the Korean War and its effects on the Korean peninsula and the world - Provide an opportunity to young generations around the world to learn and experience Korea

2. Direction - Invite grandchildren of Korean War veterans from UN Allied nations which dispatched military troops to Korean during the war - Establish a cooperative network among descendants of Korean War veterans around the world

Period & Number of Participants 1. 1st round - Date: July 3-9, 2011 (6 nights & 7 days) - No. of Participants: 90 (75 from overseas, 15 from Korea) 2. 2nd round - Date: July 24-30 (6 nights & 7 days) - No. of Participants: 90 (75 from overseas, 15 from Korea) 3. B. Selection 1. When: April-May 2. Eligibility a. Overseas participants (150) - Grandchildren of Korean War veterans who are attending universities or colleges - Those who have not visited Korea before by the Korean government’s invitation - Those who have a good command of English b. Korean participants (30) - University or college students who have a good command of English - Priority is given to those who can speak not only English but also Turkish, French, Spanish or Thai. - Those who have knowledge of the Korean War and a good sense of history * Priority is given to grandchildren of Korean War veterans 3.
