Job roles
Manager- The role of a manager in a business is making sure that things happen the way they are suppose to. They work with the people under them to make sure that the work is getting done in a timely fashion and in a way that represents the business well. Middle managers are responsible for some medical term decision and resources. Junior managers are responsible for short term decisions and some resources.
Supervisor- Supervisors have many different levels of responsibility. They answer to company management, but they also are responsible for the development and activities of their staff members. Understanding the daily challenges of this role can help you be an effective supervisor and foster respect for the efforts of the supervisors in your company. Supervisors are expected to maintain discipline within their staff for several reasons. Enforcing discipline keeps employees focused on productive job activities and maintains a level playing field for all employees. When conflict arises in a work group, it is the supervisor who must first address the situation.
IT Operative- information technology is very important in today’s businesses this is because most businesses use computers to do their work this is why employees’ must have a working knowledge of a computer. For example if a customer goes into a Bank or a Travel Agent the employee will use a computer or some sort of technology to find out information you need. The role IT Operative is to create spreadsheet or presentations etc.
Administrator- has an important role in a business. The job role of an administrator is to create paper based and computer based work. They have tasks such as communicating messages and producing documents for the business. Officer Manager Responsibilities are to organise the training of administrative and they will advertise departments, also they will provide and maintain communication systems within the company. This includes phones, mail and other electrical forms of communication.
Customer service operative- every organisation depends on customer service, this is because if customers have any problems they will go to the customer service operative. The customer service operative has training in order to handle all the customer complaints and if businesses have good customer service their reputation will increase. Businesses such as Tesco, Samsung etc have good customer service.

The recruitment process
Businesses must plan to make sure that they have the right number of suitable employees for their needs. When a business is looking to recruit a new employee, it needs to be able to define key roles and responsibilities that will be expected in the new post. You need to understand the ways in which businesses set about this task by creating the following recruitment documents, person specification, job description, job advertisement and an application form.
There are many reasons for recruiting staff. 4 of the main reasons are the Growth of the business which is buying and selling through the internet which leads to online applications, filling vacancies caused by job leavers which is when some companies such as ASDA and Sainsbury’s constantly need to recruit checkout staff, car park attendants and other employees. Another reason is changing job roles which are when modern work is constantly changing and that in the next year the jobs will require different skills. Another reason is internal promotion this is companies encouraging their staff to take on more demanding and better-paid posts within the business. New employees are required to replace those moving up the ladder.
Qualities in the employees
Businesses need to be clear about the sorts of qualities that they are looking for when recruiting a person. The qualities they will look for are;
