The book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a book most readers would find difficult to read or understand. The language might seem hard to some readers and other readers might not figure out the setting of the book until they are halfway through it. Nonetheless, not being able to understand a book is frustrating. Luckily, in today’s society, a reader is able to research the background of the book to help him or her understand it better. Although the book Fahrenheit 451 is difficult to understand, gaining knowledge of the 1950s and living in today’s society can help the reader better understand the book and make connections to the real world.

For instance, in today’s society the media may sometimes be blamed for how it influences people. Many people believe that the media can manipulate how people think. In the book, the media, along with the government, actually does manipulate how and what people think and do. Apart from being able to make connections, living in today’s society can also impact how the reader views the book as a whole. For example, the reader might not think much of the book if he or she cannot make connections to the book and the real world. In contrast, if a reader truly understands the book and makes clear connections, he or she might view the book as a learning experience. In conclusion, not being able to understand the book Fahrenheit 451 can be irritating, and may even make the reader uninterested.
