Reflection On A Mock Interview

In week three I interviewed a friend of a friend for my mock interview. It was an unusually situation to say the least how we met. Normally, every Tuesday my friend and I play basketball at a local gym and this Tuesday he happened to bring his friend who just wanted to get out of the house. In between games he would joke about his relationship and with us but at the same time you could tell it was bothering him a little when he talked about her and their relationship. After we finished playing basketball that day we went our separate ways and I did not think much about the situation until I read the requirements for this assignment and I thought he would be perfect to sit down and talk with. My friend did not think he would go for it but after explaining to him this would not be recorded or video tape and everything he says stay between him and I he agreed to sit down and have a mock intake session. I explained to him this is a mock intake and he does not have to tell me or elaborate on the things we joked about while we were playing basketball. Before we started the mock interview, I asked him if he had any concerns that may have come up after we last talked and his only concern was being recorded and I stated again to him what a mock intake interview was and explained he does not have to give any specific details of his life or current situation. During the course of the mock interview I noticed a lot of what he was saying and how he was answering my question reminded me of the conversation we were having at the gym. There were several occasions during the mock interview where I attempted to change the direction of the conversation because I felt as if he was explaining his current situation and it started to feel as if we were having a
