I choose the salem witch trials for my essay, because i think that it's crazy that a group of small girls got a whole town to go crazy. that group of kids got hundreds of people accused of being a witch and they were killed and i think it is crazy. The famous Salem Witch Trials occurred in the spring of 1692, in salem village, massachusetts after a group of small young girls proclaimed of being possessed by the devil and made false accusations on dozens of women in their village of witchcraft. As hysteria went through the colony of massachusetts like roaring wave, a court met in salem to hear about a special case; the first woman convicted of being a witch and to be hanged by neck until dead was bridget bishop. also about 150 men ,women and children were accused of also of being a witch. By the month of september in 1692 is when the hysteria begun to affect the public's opinion and turn the townspeople against the trials. However the general court cases of the state of salem massachusetts later annulled the verdict they had put on the proclaimed witches. also to the family they granted indemnities for the pain, …show more content…
also a very bad case of smallpox and attack from the indians rivales of the salem town community. among all these events this is what fueled the residents of the town. it made the minds get more suspicious.o and resentful of their neighbors, also they were full of fear of people on the outside.
