Have you ever thought about whether lying helps or harms people’s lives? The truth is that it does. Lying is never justifiable for any reason. While it may seem like some lies help people the only thing it is doing is hurting yourself. While lying is never a good thing there is a difference between lying and withholding certain information. In certain times simply not stating certain things for the right reasons at the right time can be justifiable. Lies harm mankind and the liar themselves despite the circumstance, lies are stressful and they damage relationships, and while it may be argued that in certain situations lies are justified, the truth remains that they are never called for.

In the article, “Brad Blanton: Honestly, Tell the Truth” by Barbara Ballinger, it states, “I found that lying was pervasive in people’s personal and professional lives. But lying is stressful and hurts relationships”. This is saying that lying is a common part in most of our lives, and that it is very stressful to lie. It shows that even though lying is stressful and can damage relationships for some reason most people do it anyway. Furthermore, Barbara Ballinger also stated in her article that, “You have to think about what a person’s reaction might be, and you start manipulating information to control the outcome. Delivering the truth is easier, takes less time, and is less stressful”. This explains how if someone constantly and coming up with lies to tell they are only complicating and creating stress in their life. It also shows how just simply telling the truth eliminates that stress and complication. It is unnecessary to lie because it only creates problems, and telling the truth is
