The relationship between abolitionism and feminism is very strong. Feminism grew out of abolitionism because when individuals were arguing abolitionism they used the argument of human rights. Feminists believed that if abolitionism could use the argument, feminists also. Slaves had a low status in society, just like the women did. In the beginning, feminists relied on abolitionists to gain their following. Without the abolitionists, feminism may not have been successful and without the women’s rights movement, abolitionism may not have been so successful. Both, abolitionism and feminism go hand-in-hand.
Uncle Tom’s Cabin showed the truth about slavery. The book showed the brutality of slavery. Since the book was so popular, many of the readers
