“Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield “New Beginnings” Is the theme chosen for this song. This theme highlights the sacrament of baptism as it is opening a new world to a child allowing them to begin their life. Although this song defines the meanings of starting over from a mistake it still reflects the theme and its message. This song expresses how with pain you must learn to escape from it and open the window to the light where you can get back up and start over.
“I’m just beginning, the pen’s in my hands, ending unplanned” This is a sentence from the song in which I find connects the two written pieces. It describes how when starting over you don’t know what the future holds for you and as you right out what you want to achieve in life it will not end up as you expected. It comes unexpectedly and the end of a journey can’t be determined.
Three symbolic languages
“Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten”
Shows how beginnings are empty and nothing has been done yet because it is your choice when to begin and once you do the future is unwritten not determined yet.
“ I break tradition, Sometimes my tries are outside the lines”
Shows how we need to break free from what’s holding us back and try to do things we haven’t done before or never thought we could do.
“Staring at the blank page before you open up the dirty window”
Shows how are future or our plans aren’t written because we are still debating on what we feel we must or should do for ourselves. But by removing the darkness and seeing the light ahead we can’t decide what we want to do.

“For the first time” by The Script “ People Heal in different ways” Is the theme chosen for this song. Healing is difficult and each person overcomes it differently, but the pain or the point of fear slips away from your thoughts because peace is finally found. The sacrament of anointing of the sick is emphasized in this theme it shows the progression of healing and how those who are sick or hurt have such an affect on their loved ones.
“Sit talking up all night, saying things we haven’t for a while”
This sentence taken from the song allows us to connect the two pieces together by looking deeper into the context for the meaning. Once we are in need of healing from pain we have gone through, grieving in are owns ways is what makes us who we are. This defines how differently we get rid of the pain and fix our situations. Although avoiding them is impossible approaching them with courage and determination will make the pain disappear.
Three symbolic languages
“We’re smiling but we’re close to tears, even after all these years”
Shows how pain has an affect on people but when you work through your problems how much better you will feel in the end no matter when you confront them.
“How we’re going to make it work, when it hurts when you pick yourself up and get kicked in the dirt.”
Shows on when you believe you are ready to confront a problem but the pain hurts to much and takes a toll on you, bringing you down to where you were before.
“Someone help us cause we’re doing our best” This shows how we cannot always do these on our own. That with a little help we can get to the state we want to be in.
“Try” By Colbie Caillat “Love is stronger when together” is the theme chosen for this song. This theme greatly expresses what the message of the song is sending across. Love for one’s self and for each other is stronger than any hate and when people unite together it becomes stronger. The sacrament of the Eucharist connects with the theme strongly because it compares the strength of hate to love. The Eucharist is the body of Christ and by taking this it reminds us that love is found inside of a person and when we try to hold back the hatred for others Christ brings upon the good. As said, we are the children of god and if we stood together the good will become a stable bridge protecting us from all evil.
