Hey Kaitlyn! I enjoyed reading your post and like you, I had also never heard of individuals having supernatural visions due to an epileptic episode, specifically with temporal lobe epilepsy. I was also shocked at the fact even someone who considered themselves an atheist had a religious experience. In the film, he explains that this did not change his views on religion and he continued identifying as an atheist. This was quite surprising to me, as I would have definitely questioned my beliefs after experiencing a religious episode like his. It was strange that his vision was about hell.
