As previously stated, education in the past was much different than it was today. However, education today has still been directly influenced by the past. In the era before the Renaissance, education was much more primitive and not as much related to today's. The Renaissance saw a shift in educational structure, and some of the new ideas withstood throughout time.

We cannot easily imagine a world without the thought system we have now which in most cases encourages arts and science and concepts of humanism but before the Renaissance that is the way it was. Humanism has since been enhanced and changed with the times, but its origins lay in the Renaissance time period("Renaissance: Influence and Interpretations."). Among the thoughts shift was a change in the way language was utilized. Emphasis was put on both native and foreign languages and the study of them stemmed from the Renaissance. Now, most schools require a foreign language credit to graduate("Renaissance: Influence and Interpretations."). Schools also require science credits in order to graduate. If we took away the Renaissance era the ideas we learn in class would be vastly different, and incorrect. The Renaissance era was the start of questioning science and what went around us. People questioned earlier scientific authorities, like Aristotle, and eventually found new theories(Rabil, Albert. "Renaissance: Influence of the
