Grey headed albatross
Description (appearance)
The grey headed albatross is approximately 81cm in length and has a 2.2 metre wingspan. It weighs from 2.8-4.4 kilograms. It has a white body with a bluish grey head and neck. A grey headed albatross has a black beak with yellow or pink edges. They have dark grey under wings while the rest of their wings are white – like their body. They also have white crescent shapes behind their eyes but these are not very easy to see.
Location and habitat
The grey headed albatross nests in colonies located in the Southern Ocean. They can be found in Antarctica and islands near Antarctica. Their nests are made out of mud and different grasses. They live in pelagic zone.
