Giovanni did not receive any training for art. He was inspired by many artists like Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne. In 1907-8 “He copied painting in Swiss privation collection by Van Gogh”. Van gogh inspired him to create “more dynamic and assertive brushstrokes, and his mature style, a variant of Fauvism, emphasized two-dimensional space and form and high-keyed, strongly contrasted colors”. Van Gogh was known for his flower painting during the impression, which inspired Giovanni to create flowers in his painting, which is the reason behind the flowers on the painting of young mother. During the 1900s Giovanni created many colorful painting, after inspired by Van Gogh such as Bridge in the Sun and Rainy Day at Capolago (1907; Chur, Bündner Kstmus.), The Lamp (1912; Zurich, Ksthaus) and Midsummer’s Fire Dance (c. 1912–18; Chur, Bündner Kstmus.). In 1910 Giovanni created a painting of young mother in which he used the colors to explain mother’s love for her child.. There was many other painting during that period of time by Giovanni. Which were more recognized then the young
