Named After
The word hoary means “frosted” or “ash.” Hoary bats are dull brown in color with
white-tipped hairs, giving them a frosted appearance.
What They Eat
Their primary diet consists of moths, but they will also eat other flying insects, beetles,
crickets, stink bugs, and termites.
