MIDTOWN POLICE ARREST MAN ON CHARGES OF BURGLARY AND LARCENY OF LOCAL MARKET

On Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 12:05 am., a man stole a hammer from Rusty Fenders Body Shop located at 627 Main St. The suspect used a back alley to access Marquette’s Market and smashed the lock to the back door. The suspect used a weapon to smash the cash register, just like the back lock was. The man obtained $910.00 in cash that was in a cloth money bag from the register at the store. He then fled on foot down First St., there are witnesses that seen the suspect flee on foot away from Marquette’s Market towards the home of where the suspect resides.

Officer Terry Schield, was asked by his sergeant on duty to investigate a possible burglary at Marquette’s Market. Upon arriving Officer Schield had met with the owner, Speedy Marquette and taken his statement and seen the evidence of the smashed lock and cash register.
