A successful company is one that operates on the premise that customer service plays a vital part in their day-to-day activities. Filled with a great staff, added diversity from all walks of life and doing their best to keep the business moving full stream ahead. Kind of sort of like the Army, there is a chain of command; Sergeant Major, First Sergeant, Sergeant First Class, well you get the picture; they insure everyone in the platoon is prepared, well versed and moving toward the objective for the company. People tend to think that the person in charge is the CEO but most of the time that person reports to someone else as well. Effective leaders would know and be able to apply the functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling to their daily work routine.
Technology touches all surfaces of our lives as it always has but with the manifestation of mobile devices and the cloud which is making a stronger impact than ever before. Wherever you go you are bound to find some sort of technology equipment or software around. The existence of technology has made an overall impact everywhere but more so in the food and restaurant industry.
With the onset of mobile devices at the table, reservations online, social media, and payment methods, technology has penetrated the food and restaurant trade like never before. Some of the innovations will aid in improving the experience not only for the industry but the client as well. Yet with every new invention comes a new task, and with the rampant deployment of technology that is moving faster these encounters seem undefeatable. This is how the industry is advancing and the challenges that accompany them will determine the destiny of several restaurants, irrespective of items on the menu.
