There is numerous people fighting against the constructions of roads and the tampering of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge one being former president Jimmy Carter. His use of rhetorical devices such as emotions and vivid imagery to persuade his audience.
Jimmy's use of details and imagery to show this beautiful national forest. As he says "Brooks Range where Dail sheep cling to cliffs and wolves howl at the moon." Carter really gives you the image of a beautiful majestic setting full of life. This also goes hand in hand with his emotional appeal of destroying this fertile land.
