Former president Barack Obama in his 2009 Inauguration speech discusses the problems of the United States and his reform. Obama relates to the people of the united states when giving his speech, he does this by using metaphors, anaphoras, and repetition by doing this he makes his speech stronger. He uses metaphors when comparing America to a stormy sea. By doing this it show’s how much turmoil the united states is in. He also says “The long rugged path towards prosperity and freedom" which talks not only about the state of the country but the wars we went through to get our freedom and maintain it.
