Gianna Jessen hoped to stop abortions with her speech to congress. She is living proof of how much damage abortions cause and she wants others to see that. She argues where were her rights when the doctors used acid to attempt to burn and suffocate her. She was born alive after a failed abortion attempt and if the abortionist had been there when she was born she would have been suffocated or left to die. Kennedy hoped to inform US citizens of his intentions. He spoke of how states on their own cannot accomplish much, but when the stand together there is little they cannot accomplish. Correspondingly, she used ethos when she presented the facts of Planned Parenthood and why babies are children. Furthermore, she stayed on topic, she never wandered off and kept focus on her goal throughout the entire speech. When listening to her speech she used humor and was able to keep her audience interested and laughing when she said something funny. Furthermore, she spoke at an appropriate pace and everything she said was very clear. One thing that made Kennedy’s speech so effective was the imagery he used, he clearly described every piece and panted a picture in the listeners minds. Also, Kennedy’s voice is very strong, he speaks clearly and strongly leaving no room for question of his motives. He uses logos in his offering of peace because peace is a logical thing that most Americans would agree with striving to achieve. Furthermore, his speech was very well planned out and flows well, nothing sounds choppy or thrown together. Finally, Kennedy directly states things the audience should and should not do which helps to keep the audience interested in what he is speaking
