Former President Bill Clinton, in his speech “I Misled the People” acknowledges his wrong doing in his affair and is apologizing to the people for disgracing our country.Clinton’s goal is for the people of the United States to forgive for his mishap and for all the problems it has caused. Clinton begins his speech by emphasizing his apologetic tone through his word choice. He gets to the peoples emotions by using words like “I must Take complete responsibility”(5), and “I answered their questions truthfully”(3). This shows he is trying to get the people of america to feel like they can trust him and he is taking the full responsibility for everything that has happened.
