In the article written by Nicholas Carr, “Is Google Making Us Stupid”, describes how the new technology we tend to use every day known as the Internet, is changing the way people read. Carr’s purpose is to let his readers know that because of the Internet everyone is starting to give up on reading long and lengthy reading and instead are deciding to use the Internet to look for the information needed in a more sufficient and faster way. He writes his article in a dramatic overreacting tone towards what the Internet is causing society’s change in the way we are reading things.

To start off Goldwasser brings in the research that made our younger side of civilization look to be seen as living in “stunning ignorance”. She later on brings her argument saying that maybe it’s the older generation that is in fear and ignorance towards technology. Goldwasser doesn’t bring any other outside sources that prove her argument besides her self which makes the article not as credible as if she were to have brought outside sources to strengthen her argument. Her argument is that the Internet is not actually changing the way society functions at least not in a negative way but instead its changing it in a positive way.
