John C. Calhoun’s “Slavery for a Positive Good” manifests all of Mr. Calhoun's views on slavery in a tangible form. In his address it quickly becomes evident that he and his approval of slavery will stand firm and unwavering. However his efforts to justify such an atrocity signify the matter’s importance. In other words, Calhoun understands that slavery is a Critical Crossroad. Subsequently he goes to great lengths to defend his ideal and what he believes and holds to be truth. He understands that no matter what the outcome may be, enslavement will change the future of the United States of America.
