She adopts a sentimental tone in order to establish a connection between herself and the many grieving Americans. She develops this and utilizes many rhetorical strategies in order to support her claim, which is to simply honor Regan.
Thatcher opens her eulogy by qualifying that Regan’s main goal as President was to unify America, as well as have an optimistic outlook on each and every situation.
