In the movie, Independence Day, the President of the United States of America (Thomas J. Whitmore) delivers a speech to encourage and empower the civilian and trained fighter pilots about to attack an alien ship. The president is fueled by his Ethos, his leadership in a time of crisis such as an alien invasion brings admiration from his constituents. There is a sense of trust and respect from the onlookers of the speech and there is an uproar of approval when the president finishes.
