Chimamanda’s talk as about how there can be misunderstandings about single stories. Often these misunderstandings can lead to a form of stereotypes of individuals, groups, or places. She implies that diversity stories are considered to be a potential choice that can bring different perspectives from many people. I have never heard about this speech before, nor this main point that the speaker talked about ever came to my mind. In my opinion, I agree with Chimamanda for many reasons. The main reason is that as she mentions several examples of her life experiences such as the roommate assuming Chimamanda didn’t speak English thinking she was from an “African tribe,” we can see this kind of stereotypes on a daily basis. When someone tells a “single
