Thomas Paine was a very persuasive writer. Thomas Paine was born on Febuary 9, 2017 1737. He was a English american political activist. He was also one of the founding fathers. Thomas Paine wrote Crisis No. 1 to persuade the people to fight against the British.
Thomas Paine uses pathos in his essay to make the audience feel emotional. By using these powerful words and phrases such as “America will never be happy until she gets clear of dominion... for though the flame of liberty... pursuit of happiness”(Paine). This speaks on happiness of the country. Basically, America has the right to live and be free and to be happy. It really wouldn’t effect the people of this time because he talk about being happy.
