The purpose of this article is to prove that people in the spotlight using their freedom to show disappointment in America's government is not a bad thing, and it's actually maturing the U.S. as a society. This articles intended audience is adults who live in The United States. I believe this because the The Washington Post, published in Washington D.C is an American only daily newspaper that targets adults with its sections on sports, politics, jobs and more. The role of the media is informer in that the author explains how people in the spotlight, especially athletes, are getting branded as unpatriotic for expressing dissatisfaction toward the government.
